FOOTBALL NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION.
- The Managing Committee of the New Zealand Rugby ,-Union met last night. There were jpre.sepjj;. — Messrs. Q.. FCampbell (Vice-President, in the chair), J. Murray,, J. -M. Hume, A. uampbell J. R. Gibbons, and A. M. De Costa (Hon. Secretary), The New South Wales Union wrote, suggesting that,4t should' fsfehd" al,a 1 , team to New Zealand,' this year, and that New Zealand should, return the visit in 1903, thus allowing Queensland to , come to New Zealand next year. New South Wales also .suggested certain conditionr which should govern the matches between, its representatives and those of the New Zealand Union. On the motion of Mr. Hume, it was decided to send a copy to each affiliated union, so that it might advise its delegates to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Union next week. A letter was read from the Taranak : Union expressing regret that a hostile demonstration had been made against Mr. Emmett, of Masterton, when acting as referee in a representative match at Hawera last fear. The Taranaki Union explained that the offenders were principally boys. It was (decided to send a copy of the letter to Emmett and the Wairarapa Union.
