MINOR ENGAGEMENTS.
4 BRITISH GARRISON RELIEVED. LONDON, 12th April. Major. Gen. Lord Errol has relieved Hoop'stad, in the north - west of the Orange River Colony, which was isplated and on short rations. Ho withdrew the garrison, and destroyed the fortifications. ' Two hundred rebels under Commandant Froneman have reached Knoma's country, havmg crossed German West African territory en route. FIGHTING IN ORANGE RIVER COLONY. ■ THE BOERS TWICE DEFEATED. (Received April 13, 9.1 a.m.) LONDON, 12th April. Colonel Monro and Bethune's Horse,, after two hours' hard fighting near Dewetsdorp, in the east of Orange River Colony, captured eighty Boers, including Commandant Bresla and Lieut. Sindeyne, of the Staats Artillery. In the west the Kimberley column had a fight between Jacobsdal ■ and Koffyfontein. The Boers lost heavily.
