MIDLAND RAILWAY.
SITTING OF THE COMMISSION. The Midland Railway Commissioners met in the room of the • Chairman of Committees at Parliament Buildings yesterday <atfternoon, and! after receiving returns from Messrs. H. M. Young, formerly engineer to the company, and Mr. H. M. Dalston, attorney-general for the company iv New Zealand, adjourned until this morning. On rosuming to-day, David Wallace, who was traffic manager under the Midland Railway Company until the seizure 'by the Government, and is now goods agent for the New Zealand Railways at Dunedin, gave details of a return which he had prepared upon the traffic "of tho Midland Railway. To Dr. Findlay — Hadi examined the books, for the return from 1890 to 1894? He believed his return to be honest and accurate. The Commission at 12.30 decided to hear further evidence at 2.30 to-morrow afternoon.
