BRASS BAND CONTEST.
— ■■ ♦ [BT TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI, 15th March. The Brass Band contest was continued to-day. The marching competition -was witnessed by a large crowd. The results are— Wanganui Garrison, music 76, marching 288, total 364 ; Woodville, music 66, marching 269, total 335 ; New Plymouth, music 66, marching 265, total 331 ; Palmerston North, music 66, marching 259, total 325 ; Masterton, music 74, marching 248, total 322 ; Petone, musio 75, marching 244, total 319. The contest concluded to-night. The result of the championship is — Wanganui, 357; Masterton (disqualified), 355; Petone, 317 ; New Plymouth, 306 ; Paliuerston, 305 ; Woodville, 288. There was a large audience at the Opera House, and the contest was, alto gether, most successful.
