ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, This Day. The inquest touching the death of Kin Hay, who was killed in the Roslyn tram accident, was coucluded yesterday. A good deal of evidence was taken, the witnesses including Mr. E. R. Ussher, of the Public Works Department, who gave the result of the tests made. He found that the cable could not be picked up easily until thirty-five feet Delow the transfer table, but it was explained that the Jension had been increased the day before the test;. The car was pulled up with the brakes after the word "stop" was given in twenty-five feet on a one in 7ft Bin grade, and in forty-one feet on a one in sft lin grade. He believed it could not be so easily pulled up if heavily loaded. The jury returned the following verdict : — "We find that deceased, Kin Hay, came to his death through No. 7 'car bolting, owing to its not being attached to the cable before starting. Further, we exonerate the driver from all blame, he having followed the usual practice."
