Wind— Gale from between north-east and north and west at all places north of Kaikoura and Cape Farewell, aud from between north and east and south-east at nil other places Bakometbr— Fall everywhere, but rising at all places north of Thames and Manukau after 16 hours Sea — Heavy on all western coast, very heavy between Cape EJgmont and Manukau, heavy on east coast worth of Enst Cape and south of Castlepoint, moderate elsewhere Tidks— High on all western coast, and on east coast of Soutli Island, pood north of East Cape, poor from thence to Cftstlepoint Bain will be generally heavy Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Dieinen, Tiritiri, and at Capes Farewell Spit and Campbell, and for easterly gales at Cape Foulwind < SYNOPSIS OK LiST 24 UOIJItS. Decreasing pressure everywhere since about midnight yesterday. Moderate to strong northerly winds have been prevalent. Low pressure from north-west in approaching the const between Westport and Hokitika, and travelling to south-east.
