At Wyndhaui to-day a young man named Charles ' Aruefct, avlio had bee*ii arrested at Dunedin, was charged with the theft of£GsO belonging to Charles Milue, and remanded. lie was further chirked with the attempted murder of Charles Milne, W. Gordon, aud John White' by administering strychnine on 29th October, at Edeudalc, and remanded on this charge for a Aveek. Accused was agent for F. J. Sullivan, a rabbit exporter, aud Millie Avas a contract rabbiter avlio supl)lied Hnllivun. The alleyaiion is that moneys forwarded by Suliivau through Arnett {'or Slilno Avero appropriated by tho accused. Ou the afternoon of the poii=oniny .accused visited j\lilnp's hut, and poison Avas subsequently found in white sugar used by the, men i'or sweetening their tea.
