WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by tho Wellington City Council at a Special Meeting held on -TUESDAY, the 30th day of October, 1900, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, viz. : — That this Council hereby resolves to borrow by way of Special Order under tho provisions of the Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897, tho Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899, and tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, the sum of Forty-five Thousand Pounds, such sum. of money to bo used— (1) For acquiring land for widening and extending certain streets in the City ; and (2) For widening such streets and constructing such extensions after tho land has been acquired. That tho interest to be paid for the abovementioned sum of Forty-five Thousand Pounds be Four Pounds per centum per annum, and that such interest bosecured by a continuing Special Rate of One Penny in the Pound on all the rateable property in tho City, payable by equal half-yearly instalments on tho Ist day of June and tho Ist day of December in each year ; and that the term of tho loan and of the present rato be 20 years from tho Ist clay oi December, 1900. Notice is further hereby given that tho said resolution will bo submitted for confirmation at tho ordinary meeting of tho Council to bo hold on THURSDAY, tho 29th day of Novomber, 1900, at half-past seven o'clock in the evening.
