' AUCKLAND, This Day. The Paeroa police now admit the recovery' of the bullion etolen from the Waihi battery. Two bags containing amalgam were found buried in the sand on. the river bank.' The police tried to keep the matter quiet, and haye watched the bags since 3 p.m. on Monday, hoping to- catch the thieves attempting to remove the booty, bixt failed to do so. Tlie value of the bullion recovered is £700 to £800.
