Glean Sweep galloped with Maltster a, mile on the van in lmm 50sec, the latter going splendidly. Dandy was in iront of iirgo and Acetlne at the end of the miie in lmin- 492 sec. Haulette~and Hautesse did the mue in" lmiiii 50sec. Nymagu, jßockieigh, Baainba ran half-a-mile in 53sec. .Laborer in front of Fides ran a mile in lmin 51sec. Saraswati and War God compassed the mile, and then the latter completed the mile and a half in lmin 46^sec — a. good gallop. Guaiiock and Lippcn ran five furlongs in lmin B£sec ; Geisha and Corsican in. lmin Baec; Black Watch and Cadenus in lmin 7isec ; Ibex four furlongs in 51sec, and Dozen in 52sec; Grasspaai in front of Kaaitoin, in 52^sec ; "What's That" and the Maine in 53£ sec. lodine and Mirce ran 5 furlongs in lmin 7sec ; Marie Corelli half a mile in 51sec. Barbarossa and Tarquin finished the mile together in lmin 50sec ; Auld Lang Syne, eleven furlongs, in 2min 32sec. La Oarabina beat r lJie Bride over the same distance in 2min 32£ sec. Union Jack did a mile in lmh} 49sec ; Gauleon in lmin 51sec; Blue Metal in lmin 50£ se c; The Chief in lmin 53&ec. .On the tan PeM Skipper, and Fleet Admiral ran a mile and a half in 2min 58sec ; Lord Rudolph 6 furlongs in lmin 22£scc. Boromeo beat Chillaigoe over a mile and a. half in 2mdn 50£ sec. Dirk Hammerhand downed Paul Pry over a mile and a quarter in' 2min 17sec. RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. ' A cnld nor'-wester was blowing when the trainers made their appearance on the* course yesterday morning. Tortulla and Advance, after trotting once round, galloped a mile and a half. The time for tlu> lust round was 2min 29 l^ec, and for ihe full distance 2min 41 sec. Cannie Chiel and Olchahulalc were given .sprinting tasks up the back, and ran home strongly on the plough ovpr the last half mile, which took 53isec. Malatua. and Military iinished fast over the last four furlongs of :i. medium-pace round, the Cup candidate moving lreely and well. Miss Delaval mid Cavalerio compassed two circuits at a strong halfpace, while Dundas ran the last halfmile of a strong circuit in 51 4-5,-sec. Ostiak easily defeated Sentry over Jive furlongs, run in lmin 3£sec, -.md the last half mi'e in 48 2 ssec. Haria galloped a mile and a half, Skirmisher assisting him over the last mile. The last rn^e and it quarter occupied 2min 21sec. The Shannon galloped five furlongs, running (he last half-miie in 49i.seo. Corn Linn was extended over a similar distance, easily defeating Klondykc over the last ha'fmile, run in 50sec. Fashion and Whitney left a, mile behind them in lmin 46 2-osee. Whinvind and Chuidchoyi 1 took lmin 48sec to complete a similar journey from a standing --lart. Golmj galloped a mile. Canteen and the (Jij)Hy Grand — Fairymaid' colt bushed over fou i furlongji in SOjJsoc, and Indian Queen ran the same distance in 4Sisec. Ideal moved ireely over tAvo circuit?. Long Tom fenced indifferently over the hurdles, blundering badly.
