H.M.S. MILDURA.
[BY TBLaORAPH— PBESS ASSOOIATIQN.J GISBORNE, 30th October. The Mildura, in her re.cent trip to tiie Islands passed Suwarrow Island, but clid not call and annex it, as the Governor had ' received no instructions to do so. The cruiser went to Tonga for coal, and His Excellency called on King George at his palace. Matters are described as very quiet at the islands. Colonel Gud- , geon has come to confer with the Gov ernment as to details with regard Jo the talcing over of the Cook Islands by New Zealand, and the establishment of authority over the other islands which were annexed. He will leave on his return to the islands by the next steamer from Auckland.
