♦ WOOL SALES. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] S^DNEX, 29th October. At to-day' a wool salas competition was active, and the tono of tho market was better. English buyora aro operating more freely, though there is no change in prices. Quotations— Greasy, (Jfcd ; sooured, 14fd. (Received October 80, 8.44 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. At the second serie3 of wool sales, which opened yesterday, the tone of the, market for all medium and superior classes of merinos and orossbreda. w,as distinctly better, and prices were a farthing higher. Yorkshire buyers operated freely. MELBOURNE, This Day. At the wool sales good merinos -and orossbreds were firm at opening rates, Inferiors^ declined 5 per cent. The Agent-General has oabled as follows to the Agricultural Department under date London, 29th inst. :—": — " Average price for the week for choicest Viotorian butter is 112s per owt ; finest Canadian cheese, 55s per owt. There is good demand for butter. ■ Cheese market is dull. Hemp (spot) : Stocks are email, and tho market speculative. Good, fair Wellington, J>2o ; fair current Manila, .£31."
