Wind — Gnle from between north-en^t and north and west, changing- westward, at all iil.iojd northward of Napier uucl Wanganui ; and g-ale from between north and east and south-east tbenco southward to Tmiaru and Queenslowu ; strong southerly winds elsewhere. Bakombtkb— Further fall everywhere, but rising after 12 hours at all places northward of Thames and Mauukau. Ska— Heavy on western coast north of Cape Egraont, and between 'Cape Farewell and Westport, also oil east coast southward of Castlepoint. Tides — High on western const north 'of Cape Ejjinont and between Cape Farewell and Westport, and on east, const south from Castlcpoint to Port Chalmers ; modorate elsewhere. Bain is to be expected in all parts of the country northward of Timaru and Queenstown. Warning signals for northerly gales nre exhibited at Cape Diana Van Diem en and Tiritiri, and for easterly gales at Capes Campbell, Foulvviud, and Farewell Spit. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 IIOUUS. Throughout the country pressure continued to decrease steadily until about midnight, and Bince then it has risen iv the sontli.
