Lord Roberts has again assumed the aggressive, after his protracted halt at Pretoria. The columns of cavalry and mounted infantry commanded by Lieut. -Genera>i French and Lieut. -General lan Hamilton and Brigadier-General Hicknian, are moving eastward from the city, and forcing the Boers under General Louis Botha before them, • in the direction of Middelburg', some ninety miles from the late Boer capital. In co-operation with this movement, General Buller, whose base is at JStanderton, midway between Laing's Nek and Pretoria, is advancing to the northwest, which will take him into the region between Pretoria and Middelburg.
