The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,255,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,370,000 quarters. At the wool sale there is good competition, and prices are firm aud unchanged. Bank shares and debentures are quoted as follows :— Bank of Australasia, .£69 6s 8d ; Bank of New South Wales, £<U) 10s ; National Bank of New Zealand, M ; Bank of Zealand 4 per cent, guaranteed stock, 101 ; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy's 4 per cent, prior-lien debentures, 91. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (JBT TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION. J CHRISTCHUKCH, 18th July. Severe weather militated against both entries and attendance at tho Addington market to-day. The yarding was — 4000 fat sheep, 200 fat lambs, 220 store sheep, 589 oattle, and 312 pigs Fat Cattle— 224 head, mostly handy weight sorts, with only a few prime steers. Sixteen steers from the North Island, not so good as previous consignments, J37 7s (id to £9. The market was slightly firmer for best sorta. Pripie beef, 20s to 22a 6d per 1001b ; good, 17s to 19s; cow and inferior, 15s to 16s 6d ; local steers, £7 to J>B l2s 6d for best, and .£5 10a to £Q 15s for others ; best heifers, to .£3, and .£3 17a 6d to £b 10s for lighter ; cows, .£8 15s to .£6 17s 6d. Store Cattle. — A large yarding, mostly of rough station sorts, wliioh did not meet with nrnch demand. One hundred three-year-old heifers bronght .£2 10s to .£3 5s ; eighteenmonths old steers, £2 ; do. heifers, .£2 2s ; yearlihgs, .£l los to £1 15s j and dry cows, .£2 8s to .£3 ss. Fat Sheep.— The yarding included some ,prime heavy-weight wethers and ewes, a few •freezing lines and secondary merinos. Heavy wethers, 20s to 22s 6d ; freezers, 16s 9d to 19a lOd ; lighter, 15s lOd to 16a 6d ; prime ewes, 183 to 21s 3d ; good, 15s to 17s 6d ; inferior, 13s to 14s 6d ; merino wethers, 13s 6d to 15.3 6d for good, and 10b 3d to 12s 6d for Fat Lamba— Small entry, and quality only secondary. Prices ranged from 10s lid to 14s. Store Sheep— All sorts sold well. The principal linen were 254 wethers at 15s 4d, 201 at lon Id, and 500 at 14s 2d to 14s lOd. In ewes 3J2 brought 14s lOd to 15s Id, and 184 at 15s 2d. Hoggets 11s to 12s 3d. Pigs- I—A1 — A medium yarding, principally of fats. Stores were in short supply, selling well. Baconers, 30s to 38s, and up to 42s fid for a pen of extra heavy, equal to 3d to 3Jd per lb ; porkers, 20s to 28s, equal to 3£d to Djd per lb ; stores, 11s to 15a, and suckers aud weanero 6s to Bs.
