There wcic pieaent at last night's meeting of tho Management Comimiteo Mestt-rs. X. Galbraith (Chaiima-n), A. J. Kellow, J. Murray, J. H. Laughton, W. Cotfey, J. T. King, J. H. Pagni (Hoa. Tieasurer), and D. M'Kenzie (Hon. Secretary). A protest from the Poneke Club against a try scored against it last Saturday by the Old Boys (on the ground that in the play preceding the score a Poneke player had run behind the deau ball line gave rise to a long discussion. Mr A. Campbell (referee in tho match) attended and explained under what rule he based his decision in allowing the try scored by the Old Boys. After seveivu motions and counter-motions had been proposed and defeated, it was decided by five votes to three •to have the match re-played. A request from tne Oriental Club that the Committee should give further consideration to the matter arising from the forfeiture of the Club's win against the Southern Club in a recent Fourthclass match, was not entertained. The appeal of the same club against the decision of the Committee that a try scored by the senior team against Poneke should be disallowed is to ' be sent on to the New Zealand Union. At the invitation of the Wairarapa Thursday Union it was decided to send a Wednesday half-holiday representative team to Masterton, on a date to be fixed. The Wellington Cricket Association wrote asking for monetary assistance in view of the crippled state of the Association's finances, and .suggesting that the Union's share of the takings from a benefit match at the Athletic Park, on a date to be decided on later, should be handed over to the Association. Members generally agreed that tho request was a reasonable one, and worthy of support, if the Union was in a position to fall in with tho proposal. It was decided to assist the Association in the "\vay suggested. A letter from the Old Boys' Football Club asking that referees officiating in its matches should wear other than white jerseys, was referred to the Referees' Association. The Petone Borough Council intimated that the recreation ground, Petone, would be available for Wednesday matches on the same terms and conditions as provided for in Saturday contests. Mr. J. R. King was authorised to act in the way of enecling improvements on the grounds of the Union in the suburban district. An explanation from the Kia Ora Club as to its reasons for playing a member who was not on the club's lists was held over for consideration at next week's meeting, pending the production of certain papers from the Secretary of the Kia Ora Club.
