LAUNCESTON, 28th May. The case of the member of the crew of the s.s. Wakntipu who was supposed to be ill with plague turns out to be one of typhoid fever. fßecetvcd May 29, 9.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Two cases of what is supposed to be plague are being investigated in. the suburbs. BRISBANE, This Day. The man Hamburg, who was seized with plague sickness at Rockhampton, has died from tho disease. RIVERTON, This Day. Sir William Lyne, Premier of New South Wales, in response to a request from the Hon. J. G. Ward, telegraphs that he can supply New Zealand with five hundred doses of Haffkine's prophylactic, to be returned when the colony's own supply comes to hand. BLUFF, This Day. The steamer Waikari arrived from Melbourne this morning, and went into quarantine. A COMMISSIONER'S WARNING. DUNEDIN, This Day. Dr. Mason, one of the General Sanitary Commissioners, thinks that though there is a general lull at present the danger of plague introduction is greater than ever, as the danger points have increased.
