"Wind— Gale from the eastward at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and New Plymouth soon, and after from 12 to 20 hours thence southward to Kiiikoura and Hokibika; strong easterly winds elsewhere Baeometeb— Further tall everywhere Sea — Heavy on both coasts north of Kailcouva and Hokitika ; heavy easterly swell between Kaikoimi and Nuggets alter 20 hours Tides— High on both coasts Rain, heavy in the North Island generally, and in South Island north of Timavu and Queenstown, and warmer weather in the south Floods are to be expected north of Ea&t Cape and W.inganui Warning signals for easterly gale are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, and Capes Campbell, Farewell, and Foul wind SYNOPSIS OK LAST 24 HOURS. Slowly decreasing pressure everywhere, with rain at places northward of l'auraiiga, Taupo, and Kaglau, but fiost in most other parts of the North Island and in the South I&laud southward of Lyttelton and* Hokitika, and a heavy ensterlv gale northward of Russell. Low preasuio fiom the north-west is about 400 miles from Cupe Farewell, and travelling to the sonth-east.
