The Premier of West Australia, in opening the annual Producers' Conference, said that in the northern parts of the colony this season was the best for 20 or 30 years. The trade of the colony had doubled during the past five years. The Commissioner of Lands advocated the immediate establishment of an experimental farm. He predicted that the colony would be able to hold its own with Federation and freetrade for five veara.
