A man named Bowley was charged at the Police Court to-day with having assaulted , p woman named Mary r aix, formerly of Wellington, by striking her in the face when they weie driving together from Taueru. Accused was fined £5 and £2 5s costs, m default two months' imprisonment. There was a frost here last night.
