UNIONISTS' PREFERENCE.
TEST CASE IN THE SUPREME COURT. [by telegraph— press association.) CHRTSTCHURCH, 21st February. A case affecting the powers of the Arbitration Court in respect to the plumbers' and gasfitters' dispute came before the Supreme Court to-day, Messrs Taylor and Oakley applying for a writ of prohibition to prevent Mr. Justice Edwards and members of the Arbitration Court from proceeding to make an award in 90 fur as it related to preference of employment being given to unionists. The matter having been argued at considerable length, Mr. Justice Dennis* ton reserved judgment.
It is stated that some fine salmon are at present being caught about the Little Grey Junotion,
