At the tallow sales, 825 caslcs "vvoro ofiered and 525 sold. Mutton, fine, 9d higher, at 318 per cwt ; medium, 6d highor, at 29s 6d. Beef, fine. 3d higher, at 30s ; medium, unchanged, at 28s 6d. WANGANUI RAM FAIR. WANGANUI, 21st February. Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co/c first day's saleß of the central ram fair began to-day with a catologuo of 800 animals, mostly Lincolns. A stud ram bred by Wm. Wilson and offered by Mr. Gadsby topped the market at 24£ guineas, ono of Perry Bros.', of Masterton, coming next at 19 guineas. The highest averago in Lincoln flocks was £4- 13s 7d, obtained for Mr. Jas. Holmes's lot of 23. The lowest average was 1£ guineas for a lino of ten. • English Leioesterg bred by J. 0. N. Grigg, of Longboach, made £4 17s 3d ; a line of Shropshires by the same breeders £5 ss; 10 Border Leicesters of the New Zealand Land Company averaged £3 9s 4d, and Mr. Holmes's Border Leicesters averaged £5 Is 6d.
