MINDS DISEASED. GENERAL YULE PLACED IN AN ASYLUM.
THE PLUCKY BUGLER ANOTHER VICTIM. (Received January 13, 9.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Ibis Day. A private letter from Mariizburg states that Major-General Yule, who succeeded to the command of the Glencoe garrison after Major-General Symons was mortally wounded, and conducted the retirement of the British to Lady&mith, has becomo 'insane. Alter tho conclusion of the march he began laughing in a terrible manner, and he had- to be placed in an asylum at Maritzburg. The same correspondent states that the bugler Shurlock, who shot three Boers witn his revolver at the Battle of Eland's Laagte, is also mentally deranged.
