Crick) has received a cablegram from the Agent-General (Sir Julian Salomons) stating that the Agents-General for New Zealand, Queensland, and Canada are opposed to the Cape-Australia cable soheme put forward by the Eastern Extension Company, on the ground that it would interfere with the Pacific cable. The Postmapter-General intends to lay the Eastern Extension Company's proposals before the Cabinet this week.
