[BY TELEGRAPH— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CARTERTON, This Day. Nicholas Alexander btowart Giichrist, labourer, was brought before Messrs. Lmdop and i>»sh, Justices, yesterday, charged with assault on Edward Clay, a farmer, over. 80 years old, on Tuesday, «nd with threatening with a knife, lie was convicted and sentenced to two months' hard labour, and -fined £5 and costs £1 19s 6d, in default of payment a further two months' hard ]abour.
