THE PATRIOTIC FUND. THE RAILWAY FUND.
Delegates from the various departments of the Railway Service met in the Primitive Methodist Schoolroom, Sydneystreet, last night. Mr. T. A. Peterkirt, Locomotive Engineer for Wellington, was in the chair. The meeting discussed what aotioa should be taken with regard tc
the moneys which tho railway employees are raising towards the War Relief Fund. It was decided! that the railway employees in the Wellington-Napier district should ' contribute to tho fund one day's pay, with a further contribution of one hour's pay per member every four weeks until peace is. proclaimed. Mr. C. W Johnston (Petone) was elected honorary secretary, and Mr. C. W. Haines honorary treasurer, a strong committee being also Bet up to organise the obtaining of subscriptions. Messrs. Jack, Brooks, Valentine, and Mayne were elected delegates for the district on the Central Committee.
