A SUGGESTIVE PREPARATION. CAPETOWN, 3rd January. General Sir Redvers Buller, who is conducting the operations in Natal for the relief of Ladysmith, has requested the authorities at Durban to send two hundred stretcher-bearers to the British camp at Chieveley. (Received January 5, 9.30 a.m.) DURBAN, 4th January. Numbers of traction engines are employed at Frere, one of the main British camps, thirteen miles south of Colenso, in the carriage of stores, etc., and are doing good work.
