PICTON EXCURSIONISTS.
TO THE EDITOS. Sir,— Kindly insert the following in the columns of your valuable paper. Hav1 ing seen a letter signed "Aylesbury-Rou-en," Picton, in the columns of your paper I wish to make a statement in reference to what the writer calls "Cockney Sportingdom." It appears to be a case of cruelty to 'ducks, a most dastardly act committed by some unknown roughs. I would like to inform the sufferer that if proof was forthcoming I would guarantee a £1 note that it was not "Cockney Sportingdom," but colonial larrikinism, and I do not see why colonial roughs should be hid under a cloak of so-called "Cockney Sportingdom."— l am, etc., H. G. BROWN. Wellington, . 2nd January, 1900.
