THE OTAKI ELECTION.
The Premier is to. speak at Pahautaaui to-night in support of the candidature of Mr. W. H. tfieH for the Otaki seat The Hon. J. Carroll will address thaelectors at Otaki tormorrow night on behalf of, the same candidate-. Mr. Field speaks at Manakau. Mr. Morison speaks at Waikanae this afternoon, at £ o'clock, i\t Paikakanki at 8 o'clock tchnight, and at the Lower Hutt to-mo*rr,o,w Bight. Mr. Field addressed meetings at the. Taita and the Lower Hutt last night. He received a cordial reception in both places, and was accorded unanimous votes of thanks and confidence. Mr. Field dealt with all the main features of the liberal Government policy, and afterwards with various wants of the district, including the straightening of the Welline, close settlement ol $ome of the Hutt Valley land, and the new bridge required over the Hutt RAv.ei;. He also explained his position in respeoi; of the use in bis late brother's election of an agreement between Messrs. Morison and Wood.
