♦ [PItESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. H. E. Boaidroan, charged with acting as a conveyancer without being a barrister or solicitor, was to-day fined £2. Two men were yesterday fined £10 for trespassing on the Plumpton racecourse. Thirty persons were charged with trespassing on the Riccarton course on 7th November, but the cases were adjourned until the Supreme Court decides as to tiie validity of the lease granted by the trustees of the course to the Canterbury Jockey Club. AUCKLAND, This Day. Herd's store, at Kennedy's Bay, has been burned down. The building and contents were uninsured. The National Bank shipped by the Mararoa for London three bars bullion and gold valued at £5700. The Mararoa also took a large shipment of maize. The Auckland Racing Clob has determined that in future no children under ten years shall be allowed on the grandstand or enclosure. " While the barquentins Neptune was off Wbangaruru on her voyage from Newcastle, a whale appeared alongside the vessel, and blew off drenching the decks.
