The price paid was £1500. The Stewards of the Welington Trotting Club dismissed the protest against Fragment, the M'inner of the President's Handicap on Saturday, which was entered on the ground of inconsistent running earlier in the day. The two investors I on Fragment therefore receive the dividend \ of £39 each. Red Lancer has been scratched for all events on the first day of the Wellington Racing Ohib's Autumn Meeting. Mr. Maidment, the nominator of the mare Jennie, informs us that it is not correct that the protest against The General in the Local Handicap was entered •without his permission. He himself authorised the rider of the horse to protest.
