A PROTEST.
At great length Mr. L. Pearce, general carrier, .writes to protest against a statement of Mr. "Sidey, J.P., irom the Bench of the Magistrate's Court on Friday last that -he (Pearce) Avas unfitted for his business because of defective hearing. As proof to the, contrary, our correspondent writes: — "Foif the past 13 years I have been* doing business as a 'general carrier about the wharves and the busiest streets of Wellington with profit to myself, and I venture to say with satisfaction to my clients, without injury to the persons or property of anyone,' and what is certainly the greatest wonderment of all, without being once charged with breaking the multifarious City and Harbour Board Bylaws until the present case." The slight at6iclc of indigestion, or liver trouble, unheeded-may be the forerunner of grave if not fatal disease. Be wise in time, then, and keep your digestive and other organs in good condition by, on the first sign of disorder, taking Nurse Woodward's Health Syrup, a sure, speedy, and safe cure. To be had of any chemist at 2s 6d per bottle. Note the trade mark.— Advt
