A sensation was lately caused here by the disappearance of a man named Elliott from Johannesburg, and it was supposed that he had been murdered. A different complexion has, however, been put upon the matter by the discovery that he left behind him a letter showing that he was dissatisfied with the situation at which he was employed, that his services had not been adequately requited, and he was in a desperate situation.
