OUR DEFENCE FORCES.
A sufficient number of the Petone Navals did not turn up at the forts on Saturday to entitle the corps to receive the usual allowance of 2s Gd a man. If the muster at next Saturday's parade is not satisfactory no more daylight parades will be called. A parade of the Boys' Institute Cadets was held last night, Captain M'Douald in command, when company drill was gone throufth under the non-commissioned officers.
