Auckland, 30th January. The further results of the second day of the Takapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting are as follows : — Hobson Handicap, for two-year-olds, of 60 soys ; five furlongs. — Halbadier, 7st 81b, 1; Blue Paul, 7st 71b, 2. Time, lmin 7isec. Dividends— £l Is on both machines. Four horses entered for the race, and at the start the riders of Halbadier and Blue Paul brought their mounts back to the post, declaring that the starter called them back. The starter declared the race properly started, but the stewards met and decided to run the race over again. Mr. Holsteml, the starter, then resigned, and Mr. Geo. Cutts started the other events of the day. The first run in which the disputed start was made was won in liniu siseo by Bluecap, whose owner, Mr. J. C. Booth, declined to start the horse a second time. The money invested on Bluecap and on Bacchus, who ran second at the first trial and also refused to start again, was returned. Handicap Steeplechase, of 150 soys ; three miles aud a half. — Kanaka, 1 ; Nor'-west, 2 ; The Trifler, 3. Time, 7miu 4jsec. 'Dividends, inside £3, outside £3 6s. Hack Handicap, of 50 soys ; one mile and a quarter. — Regulus, Bst, 1 ; Canopus, 7st 81b, 2 ; Tamaki, 6st 101b, 3. Time, 2miu 14£ sec. Dividends, inside £2 9s, outside £3 3s. Anniversary Handicap, of 100 soys ; seven furlongs, — Lillie, 7st 81b, 1; Doctor, 7st 51b, 2; Admiral Hawke, Bst slb, 3. Dividends, inside £2 11s, outside £2 17s.
