VILLAGE SETTLEMENTS.
FAILURE OF THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN EXPERIMENT. [PHESS » ASSOOI ATION . ] Adelaide. 25th January. The last of the village settlements established some 3'ears ago on the Murray River has collapsed. This particular one differed from the others in that it was run on similar altruistic lines to the "New Australia" venture in Paraguay, inaugurated by Mr. William Lane, of Queensland. Dissensions have been apparent for some time among the settlers, of whom only four remain. They now desire to acquire the settlement as a private undertaking.
