THE BRASS BANDS CONTEST.

[BY TELEGEAPH — PKESB ASSOCIATION.] Dtjnedin, 28th December. The brass bands contest was continued this afternoon, when the E-flat bombardon, double B-flat and tromboue solos were got through, the judge reserving his decision. In the evening the tesfc number "Herold" was played, six bands competing. The piece is length}', but presents no great difficulties, and it is anticipated the result will be very close. A. meeting of delegates was held in the afternoon., when it was decided to accept an invitation from Tiraaru to hold the next contest there. It will probably be held in the early part of October.
