The engine of the afternoon goods train from Napier ran off the line as the train Avas entering the station yard on Saturday. The engine Avas badly damaged, and three timber trucks Avere completely smashed. The engine-driver and fireman escaped unhurt, but the guard (Meredith) had his leg injured. A shunter named Jordan Avas, struck by falling timber, and has three ribs broken. It is uot exactly known yet how the accident happened.
