OBITUARY.

[ [PRJESS, ASSOCIATION.] London, 27th September. The death is announced of the Right Hon. Sir Arthur Bower Forwood, Conservative member for the Ormskirk division of Lancashire, at the age of 62 years. [Sir Arthur Forwood has long been leader of the Liverpool Conservatives, and has been spoken of as "the Joseph Chamberlain of Liverpool." He was Secretary to the Admiralty from 1886 to 1892, and it is stated to have been in compensation for not including him in the present Ministry that Lord Salisbury made him a baronet. The seat appears to be a safe one for the Conservatives, as Sir Arthur's majority at the general election was 2895.] A report that Mr. W. Redmond, M.P. for Clare, is dead, proves to be incorrect, It is Mrs. Howard, sister of Mr. Redmond, who is dead. Mr. William Wilson, the well-known engineer, is dead.
