Her cargo for Wellington consisted of 515 tons, including 1746 cases fiuit, and for South 535 tons, including 1927 cases fruit. Mr M' Donald is in charge of the vessel until she reaches Melbourne, "when Captain Chatfield resumes command. Mr Sadler, of the Wakatipu, is acting as purser. The Penguin brought the following passengers from Lyttelton this afternoon :— Misses Carrick, Beeves, Rutherford, Mowner, Mesdames Lester, Ryland, Barlow, Beck, Hervey, Scarisbrook. Babbage, Laing, Hons Boweu, Stewart, Rev Gillies, Messrs Pitman, Carrigan, Jarnmn, Smith, Lamg, Campbell, Wallace, Bell, Carter, Tait, Meek, Smith, Wright, Laurinson, Blandford, Mirams, Black, Davis, Barlow, Gray, Hanson, Otley ; 20 steerage. The steamer, sailing at 9.30 o'clock tonight, will take on the southern portion of the inward 'Frisco mail. The barque Opawa, now in Lyttelton, will remain in that port pending orclei-s as to her loading port. The barque Silverstrenm has been chartered to load m the colony for London during the wool season. This vessel has loaded under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Co for several years past.
