TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The fourth report of the Private Bills Committee on the M'Lean Light Locomotives Bill came up for consideration. Mr. J. Hutcheson claimed that the Bill, as now amended, had been purged of its objectionable elements. Several members expressed disapproval of the Bill, although recognising that it had been made less objectionable by the amendments of the Committee. Eventually the amendments to the' Bill were agreed to by 41 to 23. The Bill was passed through its final stages by 42 votes to 23. (Left sitting.)
