Mr. Higgs was subsequently elected Chairman. The building trade is very busy here just now, several substantial works being in hand. Thenewßrigidine Convent is fastnearing completion. Before the furnishing is commenced a ball is to be held in the building, the proceeds to go towards the furnishing fund. Feath.erston, This Day. The biennial election of seven Commissioners for the Featherstou Town Board took place yesterday. Very little interest was manifested in the election. The following were those elected : — Messrs. J. Donald, 61; J. W. Card, 50 j J. G. Cox, 47; C. Cundy, 44 ; G. Reynolds. 44 ; W. H. Nicols, 43 ; S. Cundy, 41.
