[press association.] Melbourne, 28i,h July. The Budget speech shows that the interest paid on railway loans in the past year was £1,449,000, leaving a loss of £492,000 ou working. Allowing for the repayment of a quarter of a million's worth of bonds, they would have had a surplus of £427,000 but for this loss. (Received July 29, 8.50 a.m.) Melbourne, This Day. The Financial News states that Victoria will have no difficulty in borrowing on the London market for the public works outlined in Sir George Turner's Budget speech.
