« [BT TELEGBAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, 23rd July. William Crossau was charged at Mosgiel with selling whisky without a license at Berwick on 13th May. It was alleged that the sale was made at a sheep-dog trial. A number of witnesses were called, but onlj' one swore that money passed, and he was contradicted, and the case was dismissed. A similar charge against Elizabeth Crossan, mother of the previous defendant, was also dismissed, and a charge of exposing liquor was adjourned. John Henderson pleaded Guilty to .selling beer and whisky, and was fined £25 and costs. Defendant had been twice previously convicted.
