THE GUTHRIE COMPANIES.

<> [BY TELEGKAPH — PKESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, 20lh July. _ Argument on the motion to settle the list of contributories of the New Zealand Pine Company was continued to-day, but not concluded. It was mentioned that the debentureholders had proved on the New Zealand Pine Company, and, as the unsecured creditors are very small, if Mr. Guthrie was put on the list the amount paid by him for shares would practically be handed back to the debenture-holders, minus the liquidators' commission. Tho debenture-holders, including the Bank of New Zealand, recognising the hardship entailed on Mr. Guthrie through being trustee for the compauy, had entered into an agreement to hand back to him what they might receive as a dividend.
