Reports received from the Uokianga district are to the effect that the Maoris at Waima, Taheke, and Hautara aro very quiet, and there is no sign of auy further trouble occurring. So far as the payment of the taxes overdue is coucerned it is generally believed that the Maoris are still disinclined to pay, and it is stated that they have had several kororos, at which the matter of taxation has been discussed. » !
