[PEESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received May 2, 9 a.m.) Sydney, This Day. Mr. Lyne, Leader of the Opposition, speaking at Narrabri, said that if the Federation Convention Bill were adopted it would mean civil war between the colonies. Melboukne, This Day. A rowdy Federation meeting was held in the North Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday night. Mr. Maloney, M.L.A., and Mr. Alfred Deakin were the chief speakers. Mr. Maloney hotly resented Mr. Deakin's accusation that he had packed the meeting with anti- Federalists. He dared Mr. Deakin to meet him outside and dashed the contents of a glass of water in Deakin's face. A general m6lee followed, sticks and umbrellKs being freely used. The police eventually cleared the building.
