FIRE IN A DUNEDIN WAREHOUSE.
_4 [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.J Dunedin, Ist May. A fire was discovered yesterday afternoon in the basement of the ironmongery shop and warehouse of John Edmond & Co., Princes-street. The origin of the fire is a in \ story, as the principal stock stored there consists of nails in barrels. Tho outsides of ilifM: were burning, and the names ascended by the pillars of the building to the roof. The principal damajre was done by smoke, wit or, and steam, but it is impossible to give an estimate of it until the stock has bfon thoroughly overhauled. Probably the damage will run into £2000.
