YESTERDAY'S WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs. Murray, Eoberts & Co. report as follows as to yesterday's sale : —We offered a catalogue of 850 sheepskins and 10 bales wool, all of which changed hands at full current rates. No good fallwoolled skins were forward, and we quote other sorts as follows : — Half-woolled crossbrods, sound pelts, 4d to i^d per lb ; halfwoolled merinos, a farthing less ; woolly pelts, Is 4d to Is 8d each ; good lambskins, up to Is 10(1 each ; inferior pelts, difficult of sale at Id to 4d each. "Wool — Lamb, from 5d to s£d per lb ; stragglers' fleeces, 4|d to 5d ; locks and piecos, ljd to 3d per lb. Our next sale takes place on Friday,l3th May. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) reports as follows : — We offered yesterday a catalogue of 1611 skins and 17 bales and 4 bags of wool. The attendance of buyers was good and prices for skins were on about a par with last sale rates. Wool, however, was not ,in such good demand, and the best lines had to be passed in. Fairly well-woolled skins with well- saved pelts fetched up to 4fd ; medium and inferior, 2d to 4d per lb ; pelts, up to Is 6d eaoh j and lambskins, up to 4d per lb. Messrs. Levin & Co., Limited, report as follows :— We offered a small lot of wool and 1000 skins to a good attendance of buyers. Prices were well maintained, and every lot sold under the hammer at satisfaotory rates, the top price for woolly pelts being 2s Id. Wo quote — Full-woolled skins, 4£d to sd ; medium, 4d to 4£d ; pelts, according to length of wool, up to 2s Id each. The Customs duties collected at the Port of Wellington for the week ending to-day amounted to .£11,004 6s 4d. Beer, 19s 2d.
