Mr. John Duthie, M.H.E., leaves by the Penguin this evening for Auckland, to continue his trip to England in the outward San Francisco mail steamer Alame'da. The Assessment Court for the City of Wellington will sit on the Ist April at the City Council Chambers. Captain Neale will leave Wellington with his wife by the Penguin this evening to take up his new position of Harbourmaster at Onehunga. That large pile on Lambton-quay until recently occupied by Messrs. Kempthorne, Prosser, & Co.'s New Zealaud Drug Company and now temporarily occupied by the A.M.P. Society, has been secured by the Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association for its head-quarters and distributing depot. Its reuovation and alteration to suit the association's requirements are now being considered by Mr. Chatfield, that architect having received instructions which must result in a decided improvement to the city. The upper stories of the building are to be devoted to the storage of wool and other produce, iv which the association is now doing a large business. Two hundred and fifty cases and bales of autumn goods now open and ready for inspection at C. Smith's, the Cash Draper, Cuba-street.
